A Little Dab Will Do You

Years ago there was a commercial for a hair product. The selling point was, "Just a little dab will do you." For the savvy shoppers most of you probably are, that would get your attention. My New England Apple Blossom (Kim) is always trying to reign me in, not an easy task even for a Proverbs 31 gal like her. She is my CFO, this could be really bad if The Eternal One were not my provider. Deuteronomy 18:8, Genesis 18:19

The problem is that the few who do try to live for Christ, get duped into thinking they can dab a little Jesus on their life, sprinkle a little of the Bible in their conversation, or try a good combination rub, Christ plus... you fill in the blank. That is the kiss of death for the Christian, remember Christ stands alone, He does not need help to do His part, but He does love your company. Everyone seems to be weary, burdened, busy, stressed, harried and harassed so we try to make due with our microwave Christianity, kind of like our relationships. Don't do it, it is a trump card the enemy uses to frustrate and derail our focus, our rest with Christ and our effectiveness. Zephaniah 1:5-9, Matthew 9:36, 11:28-30, Acts 4:12, 1 Kings 18:21, Galatians 5:1-2

The Eternal One tells us to come away, alone, with Him for a while and rest, EACH and EVERY DAY. One on one... Solo with The Savior. The matrimonial track record and pulse of our country's relationships is abysmal at best. God tells us that He is our husband, you are His bride. He is a covering, provider and friend like no other, or at least He wants to and should be. The invitation is between you and Him... then live and share what He entrusts into your care. Be advised this will make you a standout with others and The Mighty One. Proverbs 3:3-4, Matthew 22:1-14, Genesis 18:19

No more dabbing, no more sprinkling, if Christ Jesus is not your only and your all, then He is nothing to you. All or nothing is How He works because He knows you cannot afford any less and He cannot be any less. Again as always, the beauty is that no one can make this decision for you. He is not a Savior, He is THE Savior, but is He your Savior? He does not, He will not and He cannot share His Glory and Praise with anyone or anything else. Guard the treasure He has entrusted to you, this heritage... His gift to you. Remember to pray for the leaders He has assigned to you. Matthew 16:15-16, Isaiah 43:1-13, Psalm 61:5

"But you must remember, my fellow citizens, that eternal vigilance by the people is the price of liberty and that you must pay the price if you wish to secure the blessing. May He who holds in His hands the destinies of nations, make you worthy of the favors He has bestowed and enable you with pure hearts, clean hands and sleepless vigilance to guard and defend, to the end of time, the great charge He has committed to your keeping." President Andrew Jackson, 1837

Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go.  When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted.  Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.  Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,  and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”   Matthew 28:16-20
