The Lord said: Because these people approach Me with their mouths to honor Me with lip-service--yet their hearts are far from Me, and because their worship consists of man made rules learned by rote, I will confound them. Isaiah 29:13-14
Either make the tree good and its fruit good, or make the tree bad and it's fruit bad, for a tree is known by its fruit. For the mouth speaks from the overflow of the heart. I tell you that on the day of judgement people will have to account for every careless word they speak. For by your words you will be acquitted and by your words you will be condemned. Matthew 12:33-37
This should bring our understanding of worship to a whole new level. Every word I speak is to be worship, along with the works that follow or they will testify against me. We ALL know that one, up close and personal. Our words and attitudes, verbal and otherwise, are indicators of who we really are and this shows Whose we really are. We gather with and to Him or we scatter and push away from Him. This is why The Savior tells us we cannot do anything (Right) if we are apart from Him. Colossians 3:17, Luke 11:23, John 15:5, Joshua 1:8, Deuteronomy 28:10
