An Acceptable Offering

Cain and Abel each presented an offering to The Lord. Abel's was accepted, Cain's was not. Cain was furious. The Lord said, "Why are you furious? And why are you downcast? If you do right, won't you be accepted? But if you do not do right, sin is crouching at the door. It's desire is for you, but you must master it." Genesis 4:5-7

Lord, You have established peace for us, for You have also done all our work for us. Lord, our God, other lords than You have ruled over us, but we remember Your name alone. Isaiah 26:12-13

Men should live in awe of Him. He does not look favorably on any who are wise in heart. Job 37:24

God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble. Therefore submit to God but resist the devil and he will leave you. Step up and stay close to God and He will respond in kind. James 4:6-8

This goes hand in hand with Jeremiah 9:23-24 that we were given yesterday. To live with, use and enjoy our gifts, talents and blessings without acknowledging the Giver and provider is the worst kind of treason. Cain had a terrible crash course in failing to properly acknowledge The One who 'Made his garden grow'. When you do something right, do you stand back and admire your work and abilities or do you follow Isaiah and Abel's example and revel in God's generosity and beauty as you thank Him for working through you? Ask Him to help you, put the ball in His court. That will make every and any offering.....acceptable. Revelation 4:11

Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go.  When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted.  Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.  Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,  and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”   Matthew 28:16-20
