Answer me, Lord! Answer me, so that this people will know that You Yahweh, are God and that You have turned their hearts back to You. 1 Kings 18:37
When he came to His senses, he said, how many of my father's hired hands have more than enough food and here I am dying of hunger. I'll get up, go to my father and say to him, Father, I have sinned against heaven and in your sight. I am no longer worthy to be your son... So he got up and went to his father. But while the son was still a long way off, his father saw him, was filled with compassion. He ran to him, threw his arms around his neck and kissed him. Luke 15:11-24
While working yesterday, I noticed an old gentleman walking our way, he got closer, saw our truck and said I wasn't the man he was looking for. While talking he mentioned that he had made many, many mistakes in life. I told him he was in good company and there is a song that reminds us no matter how far we are away from our Savior, it is only one step back, "but", I told him "only Jesus can lead you there." He mentioned karma and said he was paying for his past. We had a little lesson on God's grace and the joy of His restoration through forgiveness in Christ, then I wrote these things down for him. With tears in his eyes he said, "Ken, I am going home, looking these up and starting over, I do remember some of this from a kid but standing here with you, it is coming to me in a way I never knew and making this old man cry." We hugged, prayed, hugged again and Terry went down the road a different man with a noticable skip in his step. Terry came home yesterday to a Father he was convinced would not welcome him. Coming home to Him, finding God's forgiveness, beauty and joy. Now that's a homecoming indeed! Psalm 103:1-5, 17-18, Acts 2:37-40
