The Right Frame of Mind

The Lord is The One who will go before you. He will be with you; He will not leave you or forsake you. Do not be afraid or discouraged. Deuteronomy 31:8

The sheep hear His voice, He calls His own sheep by name and leads them out. When He has brought all His own sheep outside, He goes ahead of them. The sheep follow Him because they recognize His voice. John 10:1-4

I have to remind myself each day that I am told to listen for and respond to The Savior's voice, He leads me and I follow Him. A good friend, co-worker and brother of mine, Josh, told me that Deuteronomy 31:8 is what gets him through life's struggles. We all need to have this same mindset, when He is my safe place then His promise will be my place of safety, strength and rest, that is the right frame of mind. Like it or not, as His disciple and follower, I am called to go into the world and face what He has prepared for me each day... WITH HIM. I have to agree with my friend Josh wholeheartedly here. I am called to let Him take me outside and take my stand with Him. I may not always like the first part, going out, but I love the second part, going with Him. He took Abraham outside and told him to look up at the sky and count the stars, if he could. I love when The Eternal One shows me who He is by showing who me who I am not. Now that is the right frame of mind. Psalm 107:1-32, Acts 2:37-40, 2 Chronicles 20:12, Mark 5:15,12:30, Genesis 15:5

Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go.  When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted.  Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.  Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,  and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”   Matthew 28:16-20
