This water (that flows from the Temple) flows toward the eastern region and empties into the sea, the water there becomes fresh. Swarms of living creatures will live wherever the river flows. There will be large numbers of fish because this water flows there and makes the salt water fresh. So where the river flows, everything will live.
Ezekiel 47:8-9
On the last and greatest day of the feast, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, "If anyone is thirsty let him come to Me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as the scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within Him."
John 7:37-38
I was entering a store and a man was coming out and I stopped him to ask how he was doing, which I do not do very often, but I was compelled to stop him. "Not very well" was the response."I told him the biggest mistake we make in life is trying to handle or fix everything without asking Christ Jesus for His help. I reminded him that everything we deal with in life is usually bigger than us and beyond our ability to control and I've yet to find anything too big or tough for The Savior. He started to cry and said, "Man, I can't believe He sent you for me today." Humbling and very satisfying knowing He hasn't forgotten you Mitch, isn't it? I know the feeling well, I told him.
We prayed, hugged, I wrote some things down, gave it to him and we stepped into the rest of our day. I love watching The Redeemer make the old and stale, new and fresh. Watching Him rebuild, restore and renew with His matchless beauty and comfort. Only His water from the spring of salvation could make sea water fresh just like He has done with me, Mitch and maybe you as well.
