So they came to John and told him, "Rabbi, the One you testified about and who was with you across the Jordan, is baptising and everyone is flocking to Him. John responded to his disciples, "No one can receive a single thing unless it is given to him from heaven."

John 3:26-27

This is what The Lord says: The wise must not boast in his wisdom; The mighty must not boast in his might; The rich must not boast in his riches. But the one who boasts should boast in this, that he understands and knows Me -- That I am The Lord, showing faithful love, justice and righteousness on earth, for I delight in these things.

Jeremiah 9:23-24

I think it is cool that there is such a thing as a good braggart. Read Psalm 40:7-10 and 44:8. Once again, it is all about the 'F' word. Focus is what keeps our heart, mind and relationships square with Him. He is jealous by nature, a consuming fire of jealousy, He is jealous for His glory and our welfare. Our welfare is always tied in with His glory. The thing that keeps our life on a proper keel and our course true is how we see, acknowledge, respond to Him. Making sure that He is the Only One, the Only thing we boast in and treasure above all else. He is our provider, protector, best friend, and as King David says, Our loving ally. Our glory. Our Only Source.

Revelation 15:3-4, Deuteronomy 32:1-14, Luke 1:46-55, 68-80, Psalm 73:28

Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go.  When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted.  Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.  Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,  and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”   Matthew 28:16-20
