Therefore, I am going to persuade her, lead her to the wilderness, and speak tenderly to her and make the valley of Achor (Trouble) into a gateway of hope. There she will respond as she did in the days of her youth, as in the day she came out of the land of Egypt. In that day you will call Me: My Husband and no longer call Me: My master.
Hosea 2:14-16
Wives submit to your own husbands as to The Lord. Husbands love your wives, just as Christ loves the church and gave Himself for her. For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife and the two will become one flesh. This mystery is profound, but I am talking about Christ and the church.
Epesians 5:22-33
Again I find myself fascinated with The Savior and His beauty. His attitude toward me as He speaks tenderly to me, He makes any and all trouble a gateway of hope. He is no longer my master but my husband, a personal, intimate change. Husbands love your wives... as His bride, I know His tender voice and His constant, loving care and company. To know I am one with Him is humbling and awe inspiring beyond words, with a responsibility to respond accordingly. John Newton helps us here: "How unspeakable our obligations to the Grace of God!"* Like my brother John, I am focused on living out my obligation to Him. Starting on my knees, I don't know any other way to start with Him. As I stand up and step out to complete what He has assigned me in every hand I shake, shoulder I hug and every word and deed that follows as He directs. Let knowing Him and the Joy of your marriage to Him fuel and inspire your day.
