Moses returned to The Lord and said, Oh this people has committed a great sin, and have made themselves gods of gold. Yet now if You would only forgive their sin, but if not, erase my name from The Book which You have written. The Lord replied, whoever has sinned against Me, I will erase His name from My Book. As for you, go lead the people to the place I told you about.
On the day I settle accounts I will hold them accountable for their sin.
Exodus 32:31-34
I Paul, have great heaviness and continual sorrow in my heart. For I wish that I myself were accursed from Christ for my brothers, my kinsmen(that they might be restored)... But Israel, which followed after the law of righteousness, has not attained to The Law of righteousness. Why? Because they sought it not by faith, but as it were by the works of The Law. For they stumbled at The Stumbling Stone; As it is written, behold I lay in Zion a stumbling stone and a Rock of offense: Whoever believes on Him shall not be ashamed (lost).
Romans 9:1-4, 31-33
Moses and Paul had the right idea wanting to save others but fell woefully short on being able to make them acceptable and pure in The Eternal, Flawless One's sight. Once again it is His Way or there is NO way. We are told in Proverbs 14:12 and 16:25, "There is a way that seems right to a man, but the end of that way is death." Follow The Savior's instruction and find more good than you can imagine, forever. Refuse His offer, by going our own way or following someone else and find indescribable misery, forever. As always, He loves you enough to leave the choice to you. Forced love is never true love but bondage and He knows that. He created you to be free with Him. We can curse 'freedom to choose' and ourselves by saying no to Him or we can bless Him and ourselves by thanking Him and saying, "Yes Lord, You lead and I will follow," and make it count.
