Then the men of Israel took some of their provisions, but did not seek the Lord's counsel. So Joshua established peace with them and made a treaty to let them live, and the leaders of the community swore an oath to them... But the Israelites did not attack them because the leaders of the community had sworn an oath to them by The Lord God of Israel. Then The whole community grumbled against the leaders.
Joshua 9:3-19
All things have been entrusted to Me by My Father. No one knows The Son except The Father and no one knows The Father except The Son and anyone whom The Son desires and chooses to reveal Him. Come to Me all of you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. All of you, take up My yoke and learn from Me, because I am gentle and humble in heart and you will find rest for yourselves. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.
Matthew 11:27-30
Always remember that The Eternal God you serve is The God who always keeps His promise. As He keeps His promise, we are expected to keep our promise as well. If you choose not to follow your savior's example, you step out of the circle of God's favor and His hedge of protection. That is a really bad place for a son or daughter of The kingdom to be. When the pope granted William Tyndale safe passage to Rome, he promptly arrested, tried and burned him at the stake. He said he was not obligated to keep his promise to a heretic. He did not know that he would answer for that broken promise. As you read and enjoy your Gospel and Book of Truth, thank God for William Tyndale, one of the many faithful witnesses and messengers. Thank Him also for Joshua, who absolutely knew, knows and loves The One He still serves. He is a promise keeper to follow. Keep your promise or prepare to ride out a storm you won't survive unless you make amends with The One who ALWAYS keeps His promise.
Matthew 8:10-13, 2 Samuel 12:7-14
