The laborers who carried the loads worked with one hand and held a weapon with the other. Each of the builders had his sword strapped around his waist while he was building. I, my brothers, my men and the guards with me never took off our clothes. Each carried his weapon even when washing.
Nehemiah 4:17-23
Dear friends, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal that has come on you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you. Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith.
1 Peter 4:12, 5:8-9
Hebrews 4:12 reminds us that the main sword that we as Christians are to be concerned with is The Book of truth. This sword, The Savior's Name and Promise, are the ONLY weapon that is effective in dealing with an enemy that fears no other weapon. This weapon is not just awesome in every aspect but is beautiful and powerful beyond our comprehension, well beyond our ability to truly appreciate it, to fully appreciate Him, so far...The Word, (Sword) became flesh, "The eternally existant word took on full humanity", He did that for you. This sword, This Word, This Savior is not only our only hope, He is our provision and remember this...He is our identity. Wear Him well. Show off The Savior today, EVERYWHERE you go. Let Him comfort, rebuild, restore, renew, protect and at times, kick ass and take names as He demolishes ALL the enemy's works in through and for His people, His children. Stand guard and remember He stands guard, with and over you. Enjoy that part!!
