The Lord says this: Do not let the wise person boast in their wisdom, Do not let the mighty person boast iin their might, Do not let the rich person boast in their riches; If anyone boast, Do boast in this, that they know and understand Me, That I am The Lord, exercising lovingkindness, judgment and righteousness in the earth. For in these I delight, says The Lord. Behold the days are coming when I will punish all who are circumcised and yet uncircumcised.
Jeremiah 9:23-35
John The Baptist answered the disciples, "A man can receive nothing unless it has been given to him from heaven. I am not The Christ... but the friend of the bridegroom who stands and hears Him, rejoices greatly because of The Bridegroom's voice. Therefore This joy of mine is fulfilled."
John 3:29
This is why it is so wrong to boast or brag about anything you can do or anything you have without making mention of Him... it has ALL been given to you by your creator and your sustainer. If you cannot see this, ask The Savior for his help. Isaiah reminds us of this when he boasts in The Lord here, "Lord, You establish peace for us, all that I have accomplished, You O Lord have done it for me." John speaks of His joy in The Savior and David sets an example I push to follow, "O send Your Light and Your Truth! Let them lead me; Then I will go to the altar of God. To God, my greatest joy." Is He your greatest joy? If He is then you my friend will be a beautiful tree, a testimony to His Awesome Majesty and Overwhelming Beauty, bearing sweet fruit and producing wonderful, sweet smelling flowers and providing shade for all who pass by. Do you see the part about those who are circumcised and really uncircumcised, being punished? If you claim Him as your God, then your life should reflect His light, His life and His truth...if not prepare for rough weather and heavy seas. Benjamin Franklin reminds us, "The worship of God is a duty, our duty. If men rest in hearing and praying as too many do, it is as if a tree should value itself on being watered and putting forth leaves, though it never produce any fruit." Are you doing your duty my friend?
1 Samuel 2:30, Matthew 21:19
