However I did give My people this command: Obey Me, and then I will be your God, and you will be My people. You must walk in EVERY WAY I command you so that it may go well with you.
Jeremiah 7:23
Either make the tree good and its fruit good or make the tree bad and its fruit bad, for a tree is known by its fruit. Brood of vipers! How can you speak good things when you are evil? For the mouth speaks from the overflow of the heart.
Matthew 12:33-34
Belonging to The Savior and being one of His goes far beyond simply confessing and professing. A true blue believer will ALWAYS be a believer in deed. Dietrich Bonhoeffer lived in the nation of Germany prior to and during World War 2. This is why he wrote the book, 'Cheap Grace'. He saw his people duped into believing that God's grace would cover them regardless of how they lived. This is why we read this book of The Lord's instruction, as King Jehoshaphat called it. Read it for yourself, ask Him to make His plan and promise clear to you as you do. If you don't believe He can or will do that, then you are many things, but a believer is not one of them. Many believe they cannot truly understand His instruction without someone else's take on Him and His Letter of Love to you. He is not interested in someone else's take on His promise for you, He is focused on you and wants to know if you are one of His. Don't answer that, your life already has. The man in Mark 9:24 became a believer in deed by realizing he did not have what it takes, but Christ Jesus did and by saying to Him, "I do believe, please help me with my unbelief." This is a good way to start your day because you know He has called you to be one of His and you want Him to know that He is yours.
Deuteronomy 4:7-8, Luke 24:25-27
The best way to celebrate C.S. Lewis' life is to be at our posts, as he liked to say, with renewed spirits and probing and informed minds. Charles Colson
