I rise before dawn and cry out for help; I put my hope in Your word. I am awake through each watch of the night, to meditate on your promise.
Psalm 119:147-148
Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, He got up, went out and made His way to a deserted place and He was praying there. Simon and his companions went searching for Him and said, "everyone's looking for You".
Mark 1:35-36
To rise up early does not make a person better than others, but to rise up to look for Him, if that time is set apart and devoted to spendng time with The Savior, this will make Him standout in us. It is this time and relationship that make us who we are created, formed and made to be. "Everyone called by My name and created for My glory, I have formed them, indeed I have made them." Mary sat at the feet of Jesus to listen to His words and effectively told everyone else, including her sister Martha to 'Butt out' and was commended for her focused devotion. He reminds me in His word that those who walk (or sit) with the wise, grow wise. I have chosen my walking and sitting partner. Remember Enoch found his place on The Roll of Fame by walking with The Eternal One for 300 years and still walks with Him today. That is an example I strive to follow and I pray you will as well. I pray living in this world causes you to hunger and thirst for righteousness.....because that is only found in Him.
Isaiah 43:7, Acts 4:13
"God's promises are the most powerful motives of duty; these are the constant food of a living Christian as well as the highest cordials in a fainting hour. In such a world as this, where duties perpetually demand our practice and difficulties and trials are ever surrounding us, what can we do better than to treasure up the promises in our hearts, which are the most effectual persuasives to fulfil the one and sustain the other?"
