The Lord said to Cain, "Why are you furious? Why are you downcast, why has your face fallen?" If you do right, won't you be accepted? But if you do not do right, sin is crouching at your door. Its desire is for you, but you must master it.

Genesis 4:6-7

Now everyone who competes exercises self control in everything. However, they do it to recieve a perishable crown, but we an imperishable crown. Therefore I do not run like one who runs aimlessly or box like one who beats the air, shadow boxing. Instead, I discipline my body and bring it under strict control, so that after preaching to others, I myself will not be disqualified.

1 Corinthians 9:25-27

History is filled with stories of the multitudes in the Valley of Decision spoken of in the book of Joel. EACH and EVERYONE OF US must travel through this valley, some never leave... to never leave is the same as choosing poorly and being mastered by the one who is never to be our master. This is why The Savior rebuked James and John for the poor choice of master they nearly fell for. Life here on earth is short, eternity where our choices and training we choose, lead us, is forever. Not only is there no time for shadow boxing, leave the fighting that really matters to the One who NEVER loses. The Eternal One, The Savior can do everything but fail. Leave the fighting to Him, just like He told Jehoshaphat. The Battle is His, ours is the easy yoke and ours is the light burden as His witnesses and messengers. Keep your focus fixed on Christ Jesus and you won't waste your time and life shadow boxing in the Valley of Decision. You know the right choice, make it, take it and live it... No Shadow Boxing.

Luke 9:55-56, 2 Chronicles 20:12,15, 21

Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go.  When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted.  Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.  Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,  and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”   Matthew 28:16-20
