For I desire loyalty and not sacrafice, the knowledge of God rather than burnt offerings. But they like Adam, have violated the covenant; There they have betrayed Me.
Hosea 6:6-7
To please the commanding officer, no one serving as a soldier gets entangled in civilian affairs or everyday life. Also if anyone competes as an athlete he is not crowned unless he competes according to the rules. It is the hardworking farmer who ought to be the first to get a share of the crops. Consider what I say, for The Lord will give you understanding in everything.
2 Timothy 2:4-7
So, how does it feel to know you are created to be devoted to The Savior who is devoted to you? A covenant is serious business with The Eternal One who does not lie or change His mind, He never turns His back on you and expects you to respond in kind. In order to divorce, a person of The Book must first break the covenant made before and to, The Savior before they break their promise to their spouse. When we fail to keep our promise to Him, we betray Him. If you are one whose spouse has abandoned you, two upsides here: Your conscience is clear and you have just an inkling of the heartache He endures each and everyday with those who abandon Him. As His soldier and His bride, be single minded in your service and devotion to The Only One who is always focused on and devoted to you. Focus is ALWAYS what makes or breaks your devotion and loyalty to Him. You know what He desires from and for you, what is it that you desire from and for Him?
Micah 6:8, James 1:16-18
"Merciful God, what misery I have seen, the common people knowing nothing at all of Christian doctrine and unfortunately many pastors are well-nigh unskilled and incapable of teaching."
Quoted from Luther's preface to the small Catechisms which provided easy to understand instructional and devotional material on the Ten Commandments, the Apostles Creed, The Lord's Prayer, Baptism and The Lord's Supper. So this would, "Not to be learned by rote, the way monkeys do it, but actually understood"... (I like this guy:) April, 1529
