Your Rest
Rest in God alone my soul, for my hope comes from Him. He alone is my Rock and my Salvation, my stronghold, I will not be shaken. My salvation and glory depend on God, my strong rock. My refuge is in God. Trust in Him at all times, you people, pour out your hearts before Him, God is our refuge. Men are only a vapor; Exalted men an illusion.
Psalm 62:5-9
You samaritans worship what you do not know: We worship what we do know because salvation is from the Jews. But an hour is coming when the true worshipers will worship The Father in Spirit and in truth. Yes The Father wants such people to worship Him. God is Spirit and those who worship Him must worship in Spirit and truth.
John 4:22-24
Rest is one of those things we cannot do without. True worship, enjoying time with The Savior is the greatest form of rest I have experienced. Worshiping and appreciating Him on a daily basis is meant to be our all consuming focus in life, a satisfying rest like no other. Not easy at first but His is company that you will never tire of, that is a guarantee. Worship Him today by telling Him that you cannot imagine life without Him... for what it's worth, He feels the same about you.
Isaiah 11:10, Matthew 11:28
You pray for your leaders and those assigned to you because of the rest Jesus longs to bring.
Lack of rest in our world was best summed up and surmised by Philip F. Gura in his book, 'Jonathan Edwards, America's Evangelical.' Edwards argument from experience in 1740 was powerful. "I must leave it to everyone to judge for himself from his own opportunities of observation concerning mankind, how little there is of this disinterested love to God and this pure divine affection in the world. "His tour through ancient and modern history revealed instead affections that perpetually keep the world through all nations and ages, in a continual agitation and commotion."
The only rest most people witness and experience are what they see, hear and feel of Him, through you.
