For The Lord's portion is His people; Jacob (Israel) is the place of His inheritance. He found him in a desert land and in the wasteland, a howling wilderness; He encircled him, He instructed Him, He kept him as the apple of His eye.
Deuteronomy 32:9-10
For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as were baptized into Christ, have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. And if you are Christ's, then you are Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.
Galatians 3:26-29
To say you are The Lord's portion is to say you are the ONLY part He is interested in. I will say that my life before Christ was every bit of a wasteland, a howling wilderness... it doesn't matter what you have when you are incapable of enjoying it. As you go through today, remember you are encircled and instructed by Him, you are to be His Israel. Do not forget to acknowledge Him for both. Galatians 3 makes it clear why the man was thrown out of the wedding celebration, improper apparel, that would be without Christ Jesus. With God there is no getting in on your own terms. His way or the highway, to the horror of the multitude in the valley of decision, many find out too late, He really is the ONLY HIGHway. I went for a Colonoscopy the other day and a woman said she had her own formula for cleansing and did not use the 'Nasty stuff the hospital provided.' She had her own plan. She created a nightmare in the proceedure room when she was put under. Many also consider Christ and His Cross as a nasty way for salvation. Most will find out too late that as Jonah tells us, "Those who cling to worthless idols,(ideas and instruction), forfeit The Only faithful love." We are only His when we follow His instruction, to follow someone else over Him is to despise Him. Are you His prize possession or have you been duped into being a consolation prize?
1 Samuel 2:30, Matthew 7:26-27
"Don't try so hard to fit in when you were born to stand out."
James Dobson
