If You're Scared, Go To Church

He went out among the people and brought them back to The Lord God of their ancestors. He was told, "A vast multitude has come to fight against you". Jehoshaphat was afraid, so he resolved to seek The Lord... Our God, we do not know what to do but we look to You. This is what The Lord says, "Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast multitude, for the battle is not yours but God's."

2 Chronicles 19:4-20:15

At that time some people came and reported to Jesus about the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mixed with their sacrafices. He responded to them, "Do you think that these Galileans were more sinful than all Galileans because they suffered these things? No, I tell you, but unless you repent you will all perish as well! Or those 18 that the tower of Siloam fell on and killed, do you think they were more sinful than all the people who live in Jerusalem? No, I tell you; But unless you repent you will all perish as well!"

Luke 13:1-5

I worked with a lineman in St. Louis who always said, "If your'e scared, go to church." Great advice, unfortunately he did not follow His own advice. That cost him. When I speak of church here though, I speak of our ONLY safe place where fear will never be found, in Christ's presence as you follow His instruction. This is why ONLY He can say, "Do not be afraid, do not let your heart be anxious and troubled." You, like me, have a job to do, "Believe in (and follow the instructions of) The One God has sent. He is your Church or as Isaiah says, "He is our Sanctuary", if you can understand this, you are His Sanctuary, His resting place. If you are unable to rest in Him, He cannot rest in you. Enjoy your sanctuary, enjoy His Name, His Promise and His Rest. Give fear no place, no foothold, in your life.

Isaiah 8:14, John 6:28-29, 14:27

The need for Church. "None of us is self sufficient in our spiritual lives. We need God, we need each other. Church is a place where we worship God, share our faith with the community of believers, build each other up and get empowered to go out into the world and live out our faith in our relationship with Him."

Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go.  When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted.  Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.  Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,  and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”   Matthew 28:16-20
