Follow The Leader

Listen to this you leaders of the house of Jacob, you rulers of the house of Israel, who abhor justice and pervert everything that is right... her leaders issue rulings for a bribe, her priests teach for payment, and her prophets practice divination for money... Though all the people each walk in the in the name of their gods, we will walk in the way and The Name of Yahweh our God forever and ever.

Micah 3:9-11, 4:5

"You cannot be slaves to God and money." The Pharisees, who were lovers of money, were listening to all these things while scoffing and sneering at Him. He told them: "You are the ones who justify yourselves in the sight of others, God knows your hearts. For what is highly admired by people is revolting in God's sight."

Luke 16:13-15

In Malachi, The Savior assures us, "So you will again see the difference between the righteous and the wicked, between the one who serves God and one who does not serve Him". We are marked people one way or the other... only one of two ways to go. Marked by who we name, claim and follow as our leader. I have dealt with many sneers over the years, actually, I remember being one of those who sneered at the mention of Christ's name, I remember this with tears of immeasurable gratitude. He came for me when I should have been left to flounder on my own. Now I follow my Leader with joy looking for those who flounder in the same miry mess He freed me from. I love my Leader above all others and pray you do as well. This poem was written in 1778 by William Billings, I added the last two lines, to better define 'my Leader.' :)

Let tyrants shake their iron rod, and slavery clank her galling chains,

We fear them not, we trust in God, New Englands God Forever reigns.

Howe and Burgoyne and Clinton too, With Prescott and Cornwallis joined,
