For our transgressions are with us and we know our iniquities: Transgression and deception against The Lord, turning away from following our God. The Lord saw that there was no justice and He was offended. He saw that there was no man, he was amazed that there was no one interceding.

Isaiah 59:9-16

He who had received five talents, went out and used them and gained five more.

The one who had recieved the one talent went and dug in the ground and hid his lord's provision. Then he who had received the five talents, brought the five other talents, the master said, "Well done, good and faithful servant, you were faithful over a few things... enter the joy of your Master." He who had received the one came and said, "Lord I know you to be a hard man... I was afraid and hid your provision for me to use. Here is what you gave me." He replied, "You wicked lazy servant... I should have received mine back with interest. Take his talent and give it to Him who has ten and throw this worthless servant into the outer darkness where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth."

Matthew 25:14-30

This is the only account of Jesus calling a person worthless. We do not want to offend or amaze The Savior in this way:( His provision is His gift to us and those assigned to us... He has no use for those who do not care about Him and those He has assigned to us enough to reach out to them, to invest His love, truth and light into them. Thus the term 'Worthless.' He is not only offended but also appalled that people do not care enough about Him and our people that we bury or hide the gifts, that He has given us. That is the one thing we can share, use and invest in His name that will ALWAYS bear good fruit. The interest He expects is a bigger percentage of people living, sharing and showing how life is supposed to be by His design. Do you share or are you a hoarder? Do people know you are His witness and his messenger? The easy yoke and the light burden are found only by those who put their God given talents to work WITH HIM in His harvest. Do not fear getting into His harvest but do fear not getting in.

Zechariah 7:9-13, Luke 10:36-37

Walking through a cemetary last year in Hilllsboro, Missouri. Like Solomon, I make it a common practice of mine to keep my mortal end in close view. I often find myself musing as I read the headstones and the years: What kind of person were they? A good friend, parent, child? A good employee? Were they good and faithful or wicked and lazy? What consumed their mind, time and talents? Where are they now?? I saw and appreciate John Gill's headstone and pass it on to you. Live each minute with Christ, His invitation and our responsibility to Him in mind :

"Beware kind friends as you pass by, As you are now, so once was I

As I am now, you soon will be. Prepare therefore to follow me."

Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go.  When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted.  Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.  Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,  and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”   Matthew 28:16-20
