Watch Out For The Thorns

You must drive out the inhabitants of the land before you, destroy all their stone images and cast images and demolish all their high places... If you don't drive them out, those you allow to remain will become thorns in your eyes and in your sides, they will harass you in the land where you will live and what I had planned to do to them, I will do to you.

Numbers 34:52, 55-56

Now the one sown among the thorns, this is one who hears the word but the worries of this age and the seduction of wealth choke the word and it becomes unfruitful. The one sown on good ground, this is one who hears and understands The Word and bears fruit.

Matthew 13:20-23

At a Bible study at 0630, we were discussing God's choice of words in The Bible, AKA, The Book of Truth. Not only does our God not lie or change His mind, He says what He means and He means what He says. He does not forget, ramble or get lost in the command or counsel. So ignoring the fact that The Savior is jealous for your welfare and instructs you accordingly is to invite pain, blindness the lack of rest and misery, all caused by the thorns we plant and allow to grow and even take over. He did not create you or I, to be a thorn test dummy my friend. Thorns are anything and everything that take our focus and mind off of our Savior and His provision:)

Deuteronomy 28:47-48, Mark 12:30

The children were watching a new television set their father had just purchased for them. When their dad arrived home, they didn't even get up and greet him at the door. Instead they were watching TV. The Father walked over to it, turned it off and said, "Kids, I purchased that television set because I love you and want you to be happy. But if it comes between you and your love for Me, then I am going to sell it because you are loving the gift more than the giver"...That is breaking the first commandment and impaling yourself on the mother of all thorns"

Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go.  When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted.  Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.  Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,  and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”   Matthew 28:16-20
